Ask away

So I went out with some of my girlfriends on Friday night and we ended up discussing my blog. They kept saying to me that they had loads of fashion dilemmas and questions but didn't know who to ask. So today i'm giving writing about myself a miss and instead its all about you guys- hit me with whatever questions you have and I'll do my best to think of solutions to those problems, find that right party dress or point you in the right direction of where to purchase the perfect jeans and if i dont have a clue then ill tell you! Today its all about you!

  1. Hey Charlie,
Right-here is my dilemma... As you know very well, I’m a jeans and flip flops kinda girl. However summer is now in full swing and I have been invited to some parties where my usual scruffy clothes just won’t do.
The one I am having most trouble with is the ‘work summer party’. It is a salsa theme and the dress code is colourful and casual. I ideally would like to look like I have made an effort but at the same time be comfortable and confident so I can join in with salsa classes and limbo etc...
Thanks for your help lovely and can wait to hear your ideas! x

  2. Hello lovely!!!!
Right yes I would suggest a dress and I know full well you have the legs for one but know youll never wear it so here are my thoughts.....

    1. A fringed top is a great way to add that salsa element to your look and really in fashion right now so can be worn on any other nights as well. Topshop have this great nude one in the sale for £10 in your size at the moment. The colour is great and would look fab with skinny jeans and heels:

    2. Alternatively for a more colourful look why not go with a pair of bright jeans? Im loving all colours of jeans at the moment. Oasis have some great cropped red ones and Dorothy Perkins have some amazing green ones. Pair with a sequin top to get that real salsa effect. Sequins are going to be big for A/W 11 so worth the investment.I love this one by Ted Baker:

  3. Hi Charlie,

I do love a maxi but I have the mixed blessing of a big bust; I struggle to find one that has proper straps to house the sturdy bra I need to wear (I've yet to find a strapless bra that actually works but I guess that is another quest!) and I'm sick of wearing a cardi to cover up - so what I'm after is a bright maxi that is not strappy, halter or racer back, doesn't make me look pregnant or matronly, er and doesn't break the bank. Hmmm think I might be asking a bit much?

    C x

  4. Hi Charlotte

haha there's no such thing as asking too much. I'm a massive fan of the maxi dress and believe there is the right style out there to suit everyone! Whether youre big busted, flat chested, petite or tall there's definitely a style to suit you So actually the fact youve recognized what doesn't suit you just makes the job of finding what does far easier! So here's my guide to maxi dresses for every occasion possible! I hope it helps......

  6. hi charlie, am inspired by your answers to carly and charlotte- so thought I would post a request! we are having a birthday bbq for AW in a few weekends time... it would be nice to look a bit more polished than usual- but am not sure where to start. a fun relaxed summer dress which can be worn with flats (sandals or flip flops) is what i am looking for (i think!)... seen anything you think might suits me? thanks hun, clare x

  7. Hey lovely of course I can help. For starters id think about colour. Reds and green tones really suit you so id go with a dress which has these colours in them- also you want to avoid any thing too dark as they can be a bit formal and Its summer after all! I also think something with a nipped in waist really suits your figure so here are my thoughts. Hope it helpsxxx

1.£46 Topshop. This orange skater dress would really flatter your figure. It’s a great one to wear with sandals but can also be dressed up for the office or dinner with heels and a blazer so a great staple

2.£70 Oasis- this green pleated dress is very feminine and girly. The nipped in waist will flatter while the pleats add a softer edge to it. A great one to wear again perhaps to a wedding with heels?

    3. Floral dress £52 French Connection-for something more fun and relaxed a floral dress is always a great option. I love this one!

    4. Asymetric dress £70 warehouse-or something a bit more sexy im loving this one shoulder dress. Coral is a great colour for summer too!

    5. Maxi dress £30 Dorothy Perkins-I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a maxi dress for a bbq. At £30 this one is a real steal and im loving the print!!!
